Terms of Service

Join the "blob.cat dimension". There are three main points:

• Never post anything illegal (USA jurisdiction)
• Mark sensitive media as NSFW
• Most importantly, be excellent to each other

Notes

• "Be excellent" generally means "no explicit bigotry". For example, "death to all $group" memes are not allowed. Generally unpopular opinions are fine though, as long as they are expressed respectfully
• However, this server is not primarily intended for political debate. If you are interested in that, please find another server
• The administration team reserves the right to remove users for reasons other than are listed here. This has currently not occurred and all account removals are documented on @moderation
• Lolicon is considered illegal out of an abundance of caution - please avoid sharing it

Also, please avoid from sharing explicit pornography on the site. The site is not meant as a pornsite

Federation Policy

This instance is intending to be a good neighbor to all instances in the Fediverse. We will work with remote admins to resolve any disputes between remote and local users, do not hesitate to reach out to the administrator (@Jain).

Users should have the freedom to decide which instances they interact with, administrators shouldn't take that freedom away. Most Fediverse Servers offer tools to allow users to hide other instance, administrators have no need to do it for them.

Failed experiments in coordinated domain blocking such as Dzuk's blockchain and never-ending "block recommendations" have shown that blocking instances to prevent exposure to negative contents is unsuccessful at everything but spreading toxicity and driving friendships apart.

Registration

Blob.cat doesnt have a Mail-Server, you wont get notified when your account is approved. Check it by Logging in a few hours (sometimes even a day or two) later. You dont need to have a Mail-Address, however we recommend adding one, as well as refering to alternative Accounts of yours, this helps recovering access when you lost it. If you cant prove that an Account is yours, you most likely wont get it back. The reason for registration is optional, but it is not easy to distinguish real people from unwanted bots, if you don't know what to enter, write us that you like blob.cat because of the blobcats
